Now in its fourth year, #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Observed on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.

"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them."
On this Veterans Day, the Permission to Start Dreaming Foundation is committed to elevating the lives of our Veterans and their families while pledging to live worthy of the 1% who serve our Country. We walk in freedom because of your service and sacrifice. Grateful.
Reflecting on that horrendous day of 9/11 at the Freedom Tower and memorial in New York is a somber experience and for thousands if not millions will always be stingingly painful. Many young men and women saw that day as a call to arms and signed up to protect our country and our way of life which includes the son of the Permission To Start Dreaming organization. His cousin was killed at the Pentagon that day leaving an indelible mark to the heart and soul of her family left behind.
Celebrate the end of summer and increase support for soldiers suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury at a Sept. 30 beer and music festival on the drag strip at Bremerton Motorsports Park.
Tickets to Drafts & Drums on the Drag are now on sale. The event features three bands, eight local breweries and a vintage car show in an open-air festival fundraiser on the Bremerton drag strip. The Sept. 30 event runs from 2 to 8 p.m. and kicks off with an opening ceremony saluting the community’s soldiers.
Trap shooters will be back in action for the second-annual Pull For a Soldier tournament Sept. 8 at the Gig Harbor Sportsman's Club.
The tournament supports the Permission to Start Dreaming Foundation, a Gig Harbor-based foundation that raises funds for alternative therapy programs that help veterans and their families find a light through the darkness of post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD.
Once again, we're grateful to have the Tom Taylor Family YMCA as the start and finish location for the Sixth Annual Race For A Soldier Half Marathon. Race participants are welcome to access the facility at no cost after the race.
Like last year, child care will be included with this year's race if you register by September 18th and while space is available.
